PRODUCT DETAIL:
Client match:
- Automate the detection and classification of mobile devices that support 802.11ac Wave 2.
- This allows ClientMatch to group Wave 2 capable devices onto a single Wave 2 radio to implement multi-user MIMO with the benefits of 802.11n without the downsides of 802.11ac. As a result, network capacity increases, and efficiency improves.
IOT
This series provides Bluetooth-enabled location services, asset tracking, and mobile engagement services to Meridian and IoT. To expand use cases, an IoT expansion radio can support the Zigbee protocol. It can be leveraged as an IoT platform without requiring overlay infrastructure or additional IT resources.
Dual mode:
- Dual-5GHz mode supported, where the 2.4GHz radio turns into a 5GHz radio
- Full coverage with both 5 GHz radios, doubling performance and capacity
- Designed to isolate the two 5 GHz transmitters for higher performance than competitive solutions
- Possible to convert into both bands manually, or automatically and dynamically (software controlled, under the hood), dependent on system-wide capacity and load
Advanced Cellular Coexistence (ACC):- Reduces interference caused by 3G/4G cellular networks, distributed antenna systems, and small cell/femtocells
RF Management:
- AirMatch technology optimizes both 2.4GHz and 5-GHz bands by controlling channel width and channel selection, among other features.
- With ARM (Adaptive Radio Management), airtime is fair and APs stay clear of RF interference to deliver reliable and high-performance WLANs
Intelligent power monitoring (IPM)
- Provides continuous monitoring of power consumption and optionally enables the AP to disable certain capabilities based on power availability.
- Software disables capabilities in certain orders. When the power budget is exceeded, the USB interface will be the first to be powered off.
SECURE INFRASTRUCTURE:
- Secure boot and storage of credentials & keys through the use of Trusted Platform Modules (TPM).
- Integrates wireless intrusion protection to provide threat protection and mitigation without RF sensors or separate security appliances.
- Provides comprehensive protection against advanced online threats by identifying, classifying, and blocking malicious files, URLs, and IP addresses.
- Secure tunneling of wired Ethernet traffic with SecureJack.
OPERATING MODE
Supports both controller-based and controller-less deployment modes, providing maximum flexibility.
- Controller-based mode - where Aruba Mobility Controllers are used to configure, encrypt, enforce, and route traffic on this APs Series.
- Controller-less mode (Instant) - A cluster of APs virtualize the controller function. Controller-based deployments can easily be migrated as the network increases.
OTHER INTERFACES:
Wifi Antenna: Antenna connectors with four RP-SMA pins
Primary: Each radio associated with A0 - A3 is connected to chains 0 through 3 respectively.
- When set to dual-radio mode, signals can be diplexed between radio 0 (5 GHz) and radio 1 (2.4 GHz).
- With dual-band APs: 5 GHz interfaces from radio 0 (upper 5 GHz)
Secondary: BC0 - BC3 connected to chains 0 through 3
- Dual-radio AP: not used
- With 5 GHz interfaces from radio 1 (lower 5 GHz)
Side view of vertical planes (elevation planes with antennas rotated 0 and 90 degrees) (averaged patterns for all antennas)
Internal losses between radios and external connectors:
- Dual-radio AP: 2.0 dB for 5 GHz, 2.0 dB for 2.4 GHz
- Dual-5GHz AP: 2.0 dB upper, 1.7 dB lower
ETHERNET PORT
The HPE SmartRate port (RJ-45, with a maximum negotiated speed of 2.5Gbps)
- Auto-detecting link speed (100/1000/2500BASE-T) and MDI/MDX
- Compliant with 802.3bz and NBase-T specifications with a 2.5 Gbps speed
- PoE-PD: 48Vdc (nominal) 802.3 at PoE
- IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE)
USB Port:
USB 2.0 host interface (Type A connector) with power supply of up to 5W/1A.
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) radio
- Power up to 4 dBm (class 2) and sensitivity down to -91 dBm (class 3)
- Vertically polarized antenna with 30-degree downtilt and peak gain of 3.1 dBi (AP-344)
VISUAL INDICATORS (tri-color LEDs): Shows system and radio status
RESET BUTTON : Restore factory settings, control LED mode (on/off)
SERIAL CONSOLE INTERFACE : (proprietary, µUSB physical jack)
POWER SOURCES:
- Power over Ethernet (PoE) and direct DC power are supported
- DC power takes precedence over PoE when both power sources are available
- DC source: 48 Volts nominal, +/- 5% for 5% tolerance
- PoE (Power over Ethernet): 48Vdc (nominal) source compliant with 802.3at/af
- Direct DC power sources will allow the AP to operate without limitation.
- Unrestricted mode with PoE is enabled but may apply restrictions depending on the PoE budget and power consumption. There is a programmable approach to applying IPM restrictions.
RESTRICTION:
When using an 802.3af PoE power source, both radios are limited to 2x2 operation (AP in dual-radio mode) or 1x1 operation (AP in dual-5GHz mode).
NOTE: Power sources for this unit are sold separately.
Reliability : MTBF is 640khrs (73 years) when the temperature on the device is 25°C
