The 550 Series of APs provide wireless speeds up to 5.37 Gbps in long-range spaces that are extremely dense. It can be configured in dual or triple radio modes depending on the application.

IOT  CAPABILITIES

Aps integrates Bluetooth 5 and 802.15.4 radio (for Zigbee support) in order to simplify the deployment and management of IoT-based location services, asset tracking services, security solutions, and IoT sensors.

Along with Zigbee and Bluetooth, it comes with TWT( Target Wake Time ) to improve client airtime contention with others and power saving.

Note: TWT sets communication schedules for clients

TRANSMIT POWER

BLE: Upto 8dBm transmission power and -99dBm receiving sensitivity 

Zigbee: Transmitting up to 8 dBm and receiving at -97 dBm

SECURE INFRASTRUCTURE:

Wireless traffic and authentication are protected by these infrastructures. The list of components included within this are

WPA3 & Enhanced Open: WPA3:- Latest version of WPA allows strong encryption & authentication to enterprise networks.Enhanced Open: Offers Seamless protection to open network and encrypted with each session to protect passwords & data.

WPA2-MPSK: Simpler passkey Management enables to change  wifi password or device type.   

VPN Tunnels: A VPN concentrator establishes a secure IPSec/SSL VPN tunnel for mobility controllers during RAP and IAP-VPN deployments.

TPM (Trusted Platform Module): It is helpful for Secure storage of keys & credentials and boot code.

 

Note: Clearpass policy manager is required to access this feature.

FLEXIBILITY:

The APs can operate in two modes: instant mode (controlless) and controller mode (controller).

Instant Mode: Serves as a virtual controller for entire network.

Controller Mode ( Mobility Mode): The mobility controller manages traffic forwarding, segmentation, encryption, and policies for optimized network performance.

OTHER FEATURES 

WiFi Antenna:

• Integrated Omnidirectional 4x4 MIMO antenna provides a peak gain of 4.3dBi in 2.4GHz, while an 8x8 MIMO peak gain provides  5.8dBi in 5 GHz.

• In tri-radio mode,  4x4 5GHz radios are 5.5dBi and 5.6dBi.

• Downtilt angle for antenna is roughly 30 degrees.

 

Combined Pattern:

• In Dual mode, the peak gain of average pattern is 2.4dBi in 2.4GHz and 2.0dBi in 5GHz  

• In Tri-mode, average pattern for peak gain is 2.7dBi (radio 0L, lower half of 5GHz) and 1.8dBi (radio 0U, upper half of 5GHz)

POWER SOURCES AND CONSUMPTION

• The power supply supports both  DC and POE. Priority is given to DC when both are available.
• When POE supplies power to both ethernet port then AP combines power source.
• It operates without restrictions when powered by DC or 802.3bt or 2x 802.3at (class 5) POE
• USB port will be disabled if it is powered by 1x 802.3 at (class 4) POE with IPM feature.
