The Wi-Fi 6 access points offer high-performance connectivity for mobile, cloud, and IoT-demanding organizations. With wireless data rates up to 1.5 Gbps and gigabit wired ports, they are perfect for hotels, dormitories, and remote offices.
SPECIFICATION:
KEY FEATURES:
- Compact design that combines wireless and wired access.
- Suitable for home-based and teleworking initiatives.
- Up to 1.5 Gbps maximum wireless throughput can be achieved.
- 4 wired network ports and 1 Smart Rate uplink port.
- Secure network with WPA3 and enhanced open.
- Resolves sticky client issues on both Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 5.
- Multi-user efficiency enhanced through OFDMA.
- IoT support for Bluetooth 5 and Zigbee.
- Fiber backhaul add-on for Aruba Fiber Media Converter.
DEVICE COMPATIBILITY:
OFDMA:
- Ability to handle multiple Wi-Fi 6 clients simultaneously regardless of the type of traffic on each channel.
- A subcarrier or resource unit (RU) optimizes channel utilization so clients share bandwidth and airtime.
Client Optimization:
- Identifying the best Wi-Fi 6 compatible AP based on AI, ClientMatch eliminates sticky clients.
- In roaming, session metrics guide mobile devices to the best AP based on bandwidth, traffic types, and application types.
Advanced Cellular Coexistence (ACC):
An integrated filtering system automatically minimizes interference from cellular networks, DASs, and small cells.
Intelligent Power Monitoring (IPM):
Power consumption is continuously monitored and reported. Also configurable based on PoE power - ideal when wired switches have exhausted their power budget.
IoT PLATFORM CAPABILITIES
- Supports GPS, asset tracking, security, and IoT sensor syncing via Bluetooth 5 and 802.15.4 (for Zigbee support). It can be used as an IoT platform without requiring additional IT resources.
- Target Wake Time (TWT): Reduces airtime contention for IoTs that communicate infrequently with APs and optimizes client power consumption.
- Advanced IoT Coexistence (AIC): Enhances Ability to operate Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee radios at maximum capacity without interfering with each other.
SECURITY:
WPA3: Latest version of WPA offers better encryption and authentication for enterprise networks.
Enhanced Open: Automatically encrypts passwords and sessions in order to secure them against unauthorized access.
WPA2-MPSK: Passkey management is simpler - changing the Wi-Fi password on one device does not require changing it on others.
NOTE: ClearPass Policy Manager is required to use this feature.
VPN Tunnels: RAPs and IAP-VPNs establish SSL/IPSec VPN tunnels with Gateways and Mobility Controllers serving as VPN concentrators.
TPM (Trusted Platform Module): Application that provides secure storage for credentials, keys, and boot codes.
CONNECTIVITY: Supports up to 256 associated clients per radio (a total of 512 clients). Depending on the environment, maximum client density varies.
HYBRID WORK:
- EdgeConnect Microbranch provides a consistent employee experience regardless of location.
- SD-WAN optimization, security, and manageability are enhanced through Aruba Central and Aruba AP itself.
- Extend remote access point capabilities by integrating SASE with cloud security services such as Zscaler.
OTHER INTERFACES:
Wifi Antenna:
- 2x2 MIMO integrated semi-directional antennas with 5.2dBi peak single antenna gain at 2.4GHz and 5.4dBi at 5GHz.
- Built-in antennas are designed to be mounted on a wall or desk.
- A combined, average pattern of the antenna patterns in MIMO radios has a peak gain of 3.3dBi in 2.4GHz and 2.9dBi in 5GHz.
Azimuth plane or horizontal plane (facing right at the top of the AP, averaged patterns for all antennas)
Antenna patterns averaged for all antennas along the vertical plane 0 (looking at the side of the AP, facing right)
Vertical (elevation) plane 90 (looking at the front of the AP) (averages for all antennas)
Ethernet Port:
Uplink: E0: Smart Rate Ethernet wired network port (RJ45)
- Intelligent link speed detection (100/1000/2500BASE-T) and MDI/MDX
- Complies with NBase-T and 802.3bz specifications at 2.5Gbps
- Energy-efficient Ethernet (EEE) on IEEE 802.3az
- POE-PD: 48 volts DC (nominal) 802.3 af/at/bt (class 3, 4 or 6) POE (class 3, 4 or 6)
Local: (E1-E4): Four Ethernet wired network ports (RJ45)
- Automatic sensing link speed (10/100/1000BASE-T) and MDI/MDX
- Energy Efficient Ethernet with standard 802.3az
- POE-PSE: 802.3af/at POE output; either dual 802.3af (both ports) or single 802.3at (E1).
BLE5.0 & Zigbee (802.15.4):
- BLE: Transmits up to 7dBm (class 1), receives up to -100dBm (125kbps).
- Zigbee: Power up to 7dBm, receiving power up to -97dBm (250kbps)
- Integral semi-directional antenna with 1.2 dBi peak gain.
DC power interface: 48Vdc (nominal, +/- 5%) with 1.35mm/3.5mm center-positive circular plugs (9.5mm length).
Visual indicators: Display status of Power/System, Radio, POE-PSE status, and 4 Local network ports.
Reset button: Reset factory settings, LED mode change (Normal/OFF)
Serial console interface: USB micro-B physical port, proprietary
Reliability: 780khrs (88yrs) at +25C operating temperature( MTBF).
POWER SOURCE
- Supports both POE and direct DC power.
- When both are available, POE power gets priority.
- Work without restrictions when powered by DC or 802.3bt (class 6) POE
- USB port disabled (only) when powered by 802.3at (class 4) POE and with IPM disabled, and support (802.3af) POE-PSE power on E1 only (no PSE on E2).
- USB port and POE-PSE capabilities are disabled when powered by 802.3af (class 3) POE with IPM disabled.
- With IPM enabled, it starts without restrictions but dynamically applies additional restrictions based on POE budget and actual power consumption.
Worst-case power consumption (without USB or PSE / max):
- DC : 14W / 50W
- POE (802.3bt): 14W / 51W
- POE (802.3at): 14W / 25.5W

Aruba ap 505h is perfect for my office. It handles multiple devices seamlessly, and the OFDMA support ensures our meetings run smoothly.
The hpe aruba 505h is a high-performing access point. The WPA security and MPSK options provide robust protection. My only complaint is the lack of detailed setup instructions.
The reasonable pricing makes this rap remote access point stand out from competitors. The support for GPS, dual band MIMO technology, and IoT capabilities make it an attractive option for personal and professional use.
The rap remote access point supports Zigbee and GPS for enhanced IoT capabilities. We have managed multiple IoT devices in our workplace easily.
My wireless speeds are blazing fast with the Rap remote access point. There is no lag when using multiple devices simultaneously.
