Aruba 203RP Remote Access Point provides wireless and wired network access to corporate resources for branches and home offices.
These access points provide remote workers with enterprise-class features like role-based network access, policy-based forwarding, and Adaptive Radio Management (ARM), similar to what corporate networks offer. With these low-cost APs, an existing Aruba WLAN can be quickly enhanced.
SPECIFICATION
Aruba Mobility Controller manages configuration, encryption, policy enforcement, and network services for Access Points. Site-to-site VPN tunnels enable remote access to corporate resources.
UNIQUE CAPABILITIES:
Depending on the deployment mode, either a controller-based (InstantOS) or a controlless system (ArubaOS) was used.
Flexible radio architecture ( 802.11ac)
- Operate either in 1x1 dual radio mode or in 2x2 single radio mode.
- In single radio 2 x2 mode, it operates up to 867Mbps in 5GHz (with 2SS/VHT80 clients) or 400Mbps in 2.4GHz(with 2SS/VHT40 clients).
- In Dual-radio 1x1 mode, provides a maximum 5GHzup to 433Mbps and 2.4GHz up to 200Mbps data rates.
Built-in Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) radio
- Provides location-based services for mobile devices that support Bluetooth Low Energy.
- Manages the deployment of batteries that are powered by Aruba beacons.
Advanced Cellular Coexistence (ACC)
This technology reduces the impact of out-of-band interference from sources such as 3G/4G cellular networks.
RF Management
- ARM technology ensures airtime fairness, keeps WLANs free of interference, and automatically adjusts channel settings to provide a reliable, high-performance WLAN
- VPN tunnels provide part-time or dedicated air monitoring of corporate resources from remote locations and use wireless mesh connections to provide access to resources where ethernet is unavailable.
Intelligent app visibility and control
Through AppRF technology, thousands of applications in a variety of categories can be classified, blocked, prioritized, and bandwidth-limited.
IOT PLATFORM CAPABILITIES
- With integrated Bluetooth capabilities, Meridian and IoT-based location services, asset tracking, and mobile engagement capabilities can be provided.
- With an IoT expansion radio, the Zigbee protocol can be extended to increase IoT capabilities.
- Eliminates the need for an overlay infrastructure and additional IT resources by leveraging the AP as an IoT platform.
SECURITY
- An integrated wireless intrusion prevention system eliminates the need for separate security appliances and RF sensors.
- To protect users against advanced online threats, IP reputation and security services identify, classify, and block malicious files, URLs, and IP addresses.
- Credentials, certificates, and keys are securely stored by Integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM).
- By enforcing device-level access policies, Dynamic Segmentation optimizes network simplicity and security.
OPERATING MODES
Controller-based and controller-less deployment modes are supported by unified access points
- Controller Mode:- With an Aruba Mobility Controller, Aruba APs can be configured centrally, offer data encryption, enforce policies, and provide network services.
- Controllerless (Instant) mode - A cluster of access points functions as a controller. It is easy to migrate from Instant to Controller mode as the network grows.
- Remote AP (RAP) mode for branch deployments.
- Wireless IDS, rogue detection, and containment through air monitor (AM).
OTHER INTERFACES:
WI-FI Radio:
- Operate either dual radio mode 5GHz 802.11ac OR 2.4GHz 802.11n (2x2 MIMO) or single radio mode 5GHz 802.11ac AND 2.4GHz 802.11n (1x1 MIMO)
- Software-configurable radios support 5GHz (Radio 0) and 2.4GHz (Radio 1).
- 5GHz: With 2x2 VHT80 clients, Single User MIMO can support up to 867Mbps wireless data rates.
- 2.4GHz: Two spatial streams, One User Multi-user (SU) MIMO, providing wireless data rates of up to 400Mbps (300Mbps on HT40 802.11n devices).
- Support for up to 16 BSSIDs per access point and 256 associated client devices per radio.
WI-FI ANTENNAS
- Built-in dual-band omnidirectional antennas have maximum individual gains of 0.7dBi at 2.4GHz and 1.0dBi at 5GHz.
- Combining the antenna patterns results in a peak gain of -0.4dBi in 2.4GHz and 0.5dBi in 5GHz.
