Aruba 203R Remote Access Point delivers fast and secure 802.11ac wireless and wired network access to corporate resources for branch and home offices.
With the 203R AP, remote workers can access enterprise-class features such as role-based network access, policy-based forwarding, and Adaptive Radio Management (ARM), similar to what they get on corporate networks. To improve network performance, this low-cost 203R AP can be quickly added to an existing Aruba WLAN.
SPECIFICATION:
Aruba Mobility Controller controls configuration, encryption, policy enforcement, and network services for the 203R Access Point. Through site-to-site VPN tunnels, corporate resources can be accessed remotely.
UNIQUE CAPABILITIES:
Deployed either controller-based (ArubaOS) or controlless (InstantOS) Mode.
Flexible radio architecture ( 802.11ac)
- Operate either in 1x1 dual radio mode or in 2x2 single radio mode.
- In single radio 2 x2 mode, it operates up to 867Mbps in 5GHz (with 2SS/VHT80 clients) or 400Mbps in 2.4GHz(with 2SS/VHT40 clients).
- In Dual-radio 1x1 mode, provides maximum 5GHzup to 433Mbps and 2.4GHz up to 200Mbps data rates.
Built-in Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) radio
- Provides location-based services for BLE-enabled mobile devices.
- Allows to manage the deployment of battery-powered Aruba beacons.
Advanced Cellular Coexistence (ACC)
Reduces the impact of out-of-band interference from sources such as 3G/4G cellular networks.
RF Management
- ARM technology automatically assigns channel and power settings, ensures airtime fairness, and keeps WLANs free of interference to provide reliable, high-performance WLANs
- VPN tunnels provide part-time or dedicated air monitoring of corporate resources from remote locations and use wireless mesh connections to provide access to resources where ethernet is unavailable.
Intelligent app visibility and control
With AppRF technology, thousands of applications in a range of categories can be classified, blocked, prioritized, or limited by bandwidth.
IOT PLATFORM CAPABILITIES
- Integrated Bluetooth capabilities enable Meridian and IoT-based location services, asset tracking, and mobile engagement services.
- In order to expand IoT capabilities, the Zigbee protocol can be implemented with an IoT expansion radio
- It eliminates the need for an overlay infrastructure and additional IT resources by leveraging the AP as an IoT platform.
SECURITY
- Wireless intrusion protection provides threat mitigation and eliminates the need for separate security appliances and RF sensors.
- Provide comprehensive protection against advanced online threats by identifying, classifying, and blocking malicious files, URLs, and IP addresses.
- Secure storage of credentials, certificates, and keys using Integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM).
- Dynamic Segmentation enforces device-level access policies for improved network simplicity and security.
OPERATING MODES
A unified access point supports both controller-based and controller-less deployment modes, providing maximum flexibility
- Controller-based mode- Aruba APs can be configured centrally, offer data encryption, enforce policies and provide network services when deployed with an Aruba Mobility Controller.
- Controllerless (Instant) mode – A cluster of APs acts as the controller in Instant mode. When the network grows or the requirements change, Instant deployments can easily migrate to controller mode.
- Remote AP (RAP) mode for branch deployments.
- Wireless IDS, rogue detection, and containment through air monitor (AM).
OTHER INTERFACES
WI-FI Radio:
- Deploy Either 5GHz 802.11ac OR 2.4GHz 802.11n (2x2 MIMO) or 5GHz 802.11ac AND 2.4GHz 802.11n (1x1 MIMO)
- Software-configurable radios support 5GHz (Radio 0) and 2.4GHz (Radio 1).
- 5GHz: Single User (SU) MIMO supports up to 867Mbps wireless data rates for individuals using 2x2 VHT80 clients.
- 2.4GHz: Two spatial streams, Single User (SU) MIMO for wireless data rates of up to 400Mbps (300Mbps for HT40 802.11n client devices).
- Up to 256 associated client devices can be supported per radio, and up to 16 BSSIDs can be supported per access point.
WI-FI ANTENNAS
- Two integrated dual-band omnidirectional antennas with a maximum individual gain of 0.7 dBi at 2.4GHz and 1.0 dBi at 5GHz.Built-in antennas are designed to optimize for vertical orientation.
- The peak gain of the effective per-antenna pattern is -0.4dBi in 2.4GHz and 0.5dBi in 5GHz when the antenna patterns are combined.
