This MPO connector is terminated with end connectors female and male. These cables come with an 8 -144 fiber counter for user needs.OM3 MPO fiber cable act as a backbone and horizontal interconnection to 40G and 100G connections.
MTP/MPO cables are classified into 8/12/24 cores, usually used for 40G/100G. In hyper-scale data centers, 16-fiber cables are specifically designed for 400G cabling over short distances.
- With lower cost and insertion loss, 8-fiber MTP/MPO cable systems can transmit the same data rates as 12-fiber cables.
- In 10G-40G, 40G-100G connections, 12-fiber MTP/MPO cables are the earliest developed and most commonly used solutions. It will result in low fiber utilization if they are used in 40G QSFP+ or 100G QSFP28 transceivers.
- Between CFP-to-CFP transceivers, 24 fiber MTP/MPO cables are typically used to establish 100GBASE-SR10 links.
- The 16-fiber MTP/MPO cable uses the same ferrule as MT (mechanically transferable) cables, aggregates multiple 8-fiber parallel transceivers, and couples directly to 400G QSFP-DD and OSFP fiber links.
This MPO multimode OM3 addresses the polarity issue with this high-density MPO cabling system. A key-up reversed connection is made between opposing connections.
Among these 12 pins,1 to 4 act as Transmit (tx) and 9 to 12 pin port act as Receiver (Rx) remaining 5 to 8 pin are not used.
